18461904 ), Exceptionally Rare Verre Parlant "Speaking
Glass" Cameo Vase, Circa 1895 Signature: Inscription
reads: "Emile Galle, Inv. ET Fecit and Snowflake. Inscription:
[in gold, first line is embossed]: La Soldanelle des Alpes.
Second line - "L'eternel printemps couse sous l'hiver",
Joséphin Soulary. Amethyst and Crystal Vase measures
5.5" inches tall X 3.75" dia. This is the only example
of this vase we have knowledge of and consider it unique.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York has a similar vase
on display in in Gallery 813. The Metropolitan vase title
is "Vase Emile Gallé (French, Nancy 18461904
Nancy)" and the Accession Number is - 1984.563
Condition: Vase is in wonderful condition and free
of chips cracks or damage.

with hand painted on tooled leather panels, c.1870. Paintings
of maiden and suitor in lavish 16th century dress are hand
painted on panels. Suitor is returning from battle with a
dog and carries a pike, sword, whip and horn. Dimensions -
23.5" X 46" Including walnut frame 27" X 64"
Condition: One panel has two tears the longest being
3.25" long, these tears show very little from front of
panel and are very stable. Walnut wood exhibits signs of earlier
insect damage. Some light crackle to paint. Panels were part
of a multi-panel screen at one time.

oil on board. Mrs. Bessie was an African-American self-taught
outsider artist, born in Sligo, Louisiana and only began to
paint at 80 years old . Many of Mrs. Nickens paintings depict
her childhood memories of the south. The artist moved to New
York in her latter years and lived there until her death at
98 years old in 2004. Mrs. Bessie`s paintings received critical
acclaim from the art world and were exhibited in several New
York Galleries until her death. Antique style gold and wood
grain frame has Mehu Gallery, New York label affixed to back.
