Kennedy`s
Auction Service is honored to sell the gun collection of Colonel
Dexter Kimbrough of Greenwood, Mississippi and Pocahontas, Arkansas.
Colonel Kimbrough has been collecting guns for over 50 years and
has decided now is the time to sell his collection. Col. Kimbrough
was first commissioned Second Lieutenant in Air Defense Artillery,
Ft. Bliss, Texas. Shortly thereafter, he was sent to training at
White Sands missile range in New Mexico where his unit developed
an improved method for arming the Nike Hercules nuclear missile.
Their method reduced the arming time from 4 hours to 2 and was used
to train warhead units around the world. Dexters commissions
took him all across the globe at the height of the Cold War. Col.
Kimbroughs next promotion would have been General were it
not for a higher calling, to retire and be a father. Col. Kimbrough`s
Diverse Gun collection includes 18th 20th century firearms
including Blunderbuss, Flintlocks, Pin-fires, Percussion, Civil
War Arms of almost every type, Indian War, Spanish American War,
